The Process

Interested in how we replace shiplap cladding? Discover our process below:

  • The current cladding and battens are removed.
  • We then add felt and new battens to help insulate the dormer.
  • If the window needs replacing, this is when it’ll be removed, the new one installed and sealed up from the inside.
  • Cladding is nailed to the battens at the sides of the dormer, with each piece locking in place. Cladding is then installed at the front of the dormer.
  • New guttering, fascias and leadwork may also be added to water-proof your dormer.
